“It is Time to Effect a Revolution”: Selections from the Rose Rare Book Collection and University of Dayton Collections
The University of Dayton welcomes attendees to the 20th anniversary of the Feminisms and Rhetorics Conference with an opening reception and special exhibition of rare books from the private collection of Stuart and Mimi Rose and University of Dayton Libraries’ special collections and archives.Taking a line from Mary Wollstonecraft’s A Vindication of the Rights of Woman, the exhibit features hand-selected books, treatises, and artifacts marking the role Rhetorics, Rights, and (R)evolutions have played in human history.

An Evening at the Dayton Art Institute
Founded in 1919 and designed by prominent museum architect Edward B. Green, the Dayton Art Institute is an exquisite example of sixteenth century Italian Renaissance architecture. With a permanent collection of over 26,000 objects, the DAI features special wings and galleries, including the Berry Wing of European Art, the Dicke Wing of American Art and the Patterson/Kettering Wing of Asian Art. Please join us for an evening of conversation, music, and a special exhibit of works by 19th century Art Nouveau painter and decorative artist, Alphonse Mucha.
